    ok truly correct me if i’m wrong but i think they might be cirrus clouds? i believe they’re the highest (or one of the highest) clouds that form and they’re made of ice crystals. this is coming from someone who took a uni class 30 thousand years ago so hey maybe it’s all wrong lol

  2. Not a cloud bloke, but there’s a few things going on.
    Nice high cirrostratus (thin layer + high up) clouds, which are exclusively ice crystals. These are only forming in some areas because the winds just above the clouds are dipping down in this area (which is a regular occurrence everywhere with strong winds, but is causing condensation to form in this spot in particular).
    This layer looks like it is oscillating and causing the same clouds to occur in multiple spots.
    Combine that with a variety of other clouds in the sky and it’s quite the contrast.
    Due to their height, stratus clouds will capture the light after sunset for quite a while – which is why they’re so white and bright here.
