Thats impressive as fuck if you consider what we went through in 2025 …

Forget the Tariffs , the uncertainty for buisness and investments , its insane that anyone pushed chips in on canada during all this . That shows that massive potential Canada has to explode with investment if we can continue down this path of unraveling what was tangled .

2 consecutive quarters of negative to 0 growth. That classifies a recession correct?

  3. Get ’em Canada. Brighter days are ahead. I know 0% isn’t great overall but in these circumstances it isn’t too bad. And things are changing quickly enough that positive numbers are on the horizon.

  4. We can’t control what the Americans do. We can control what we as Canadians. If, after living through 2025 and the current times, you vote for any modern conservative candidate at any level of government, you’re a traitor to your country. It’s not hyperbole. We’re playing defense against all modern conservative politics.

  5. We should be bracing for pain considering world events. Growth is what we want but this is more than we should have expected.

If the population decrease continued its trend from Q3, then technically a 0% move in the economy still makes us slightly better off

That’s…awesome? Carney must being doing something right considering how fucking insane the world is right now.

  9. Just wait until Trump abrogates (rips up) CUSMA later this year – you will see steep GDP declines for the first time in decades. There will be a major recession or even depression, millions will be let go and everyone will know someone (a friend, family, colleague) who has lost their job.

But that’s what happens when businesses unwisely put all their eggs into one basket – and Trump gets ahold of the basket. It’s not like Canadian businesses weren’t forewarned, or encouraged for decades to diversify and carve out markets on the world stage.

Now they will pay the price for their refusal to do so.

A sign of resilience in the face of economic terrorism tactics of the Trump Tariff Fentanyl Tax.

Canada posts 0% GDP growth for entire 2025: that’s actually really impressive considering…

USA posts 3.8% Q2 & 4.4% Q3 and Reddit thinks we are in a deep recession and it’s terrible. 🙄

  12. 100percent-sales-tax on

Given the context of 2025, that’s impressive.

Given the context of the last 40 years and how little wages have kept up with GDP per capita growth, pardon my french, I don’t give a fuck.

  13. Ppl in the world do realize thst a system relying on endless growth is no feasible right? I feel there will be the day that consumption on the persue of economic growth will destroy humanity and growth itself. (Likely we are already in the downfall)

  14. So despite the issues with the US, GDP stayed at 0%.

That seems like a win (under the circumstances).

Does GDP always ***HAVE*** to go up? Do economists look at what else is going on?

  15. Canadian here

we were experiencing exponential growth until Donald Dump showed up and took a big hot steamer all over our economy!!!

mass immigration allowed us to generate GDP like an infinite money glitch and once we ignore Drumpf and go back to that everything will go back to normal

  16. 0% and some of the deals we’ve made haven’t even shown results yet. That’s a huge win. You’d think by the way Trump spoke, every Canadian was living in squalor and/or in a chinese prison.

Also, these numbers are likely more accurate than the cooked numbers the U.S pumps out.
