Innovation Centre Kosovo in collaboration with Data4X have presented the Exclusive Digital Economy Survey Report – a comprehensive market overview, combining structural data, technology adoption indicators and regional comparative analysis.

The announcement states that the digital economy has reached a turnover of around 1.9 billion euros, with an average growth of 16% per year (2021–2025).

“Over 47,000 people are currently employed in digital and related sectors, or about 11% of total employment, including about 7,500 software developers.

Digital exports have reached around 690 million euros, or 36% of total turnover, above the regional average – a clear indicator of international competitiveness,” it further states.

In terms of Artificial Intelligence, ICK showed that according to their analysis, although almost half of companies already have an operational presence of AI (basic automation, assistance, initial analysis), use in more advanced applications still remains limited – a clear space for the next phase of transformation.

The discussion also expanded to e-commerce and electronic payments, where the market has reached around 492 million euros, driven by the increased use of cards and digital platforms.

One of the challenges that was highlighted is the level of maturity of digitalization in businesses, which is still at a developmental stage.

Some recommendations that were highlighted:
