  1. Lol, TLDR is they’re basically waiting for SpaceX to fuck up the moon lander, so they can swoop in with a valid replacement.

  2. Damn, now I’m going to have to find a place on Earth to visit, but I just wanted to get away from it all.

  3. Gotta love Bezos’ arrogance. Boeing with decades of experience could safely get a crew into orbit and back. Blue Origin hasn’t even made it to orbit and he’s like “close enough, let’s go to the moon”. He’s more detached from reality than Elon on a ketamine binge.

  4. “I’m so excited that we get to share this part of our life together. One day we’re going to be enjoying the most incredibly juicy and tender roast and we’ll have it all. Today… is not that day. Wanna go to (insert restaurant here)”

Whatever you do, make sure you show gratitude for the meal she attempted to make. Thank her for her time and effort and make her feel loved.

Because it’s expensive and a huge distraction.
(And it looks like a giant dick)

Sounds like it wasn’t really making them money. Bezos wants to devote people and resources to where the real money is: government contracts at NASA

  8. Probably just ran out of people willing to shell out cash for a “this-is-totally-space” experience.

  9. 38 launches and 36 landings… That does not sound good. Are two still hanging in space or did they not actually land but crash?

  10. Why is the lander so difficult? The Apollo LM used hypergolic fuel. No pumps, just valves. It left a sizeable chunk on the surface, which is nice if you need stuff to construct a (primitive) base.

No refuelling. Is it a size-of-crew thing?

The idea of starship landing on the moon. There is this giant structure landing on its tail, bouldered terrain, no prepared infrastructure to catch and secure it. It is straight from Tintin, except that had a broader base. I just can’t imagine starship landing on the Moon or Mars without it slowly starting to topple over.

I ridiculed Musk for his idea of launching, landing and reusing a *rocket*, only to be completely in awe when they pulled that off. I’d be happy if that happens again with Starship landing. I just do not see it happening, but I dare not ridicule the plan anymore.
