Having listened in to the ceremony speeches of both players, there is one thing that really stood out.
I have to say, I didn’t think Novak Djokovic was far away from retiring at the end of his speech.
It felt like the Serbian went to say something and then pulled back, instead offering:
💬 “God knows what happens tomorrow, let alone in six months or 12 months. It has been a great ride — I love you guys!”
Having also admitted that, at the start of the tournament, he didn’t think he had enough left in him to reach a Grand Slam title, it can’t be long before we hear the ‘R’ word come out of Djokovic’s mouth.
Until then, as I said earlier, please just enjoy every time you see the great man step out onto a tennis court.
