The years were calculated by reserve/yearly production I presume? So the years don’t really have a lot useful information since even within the same country oil production fluctuates

  2. I think UAE and Kuwait and some of the luckiest countries, small population and a lot of oil. They can make their population rich doing nothing. Only downside is they need a global power to protect them militarily.

  3. Wow the hashemites really got stiffed… 1M barrels/USD, doesn’t exactly matter.

And these are just proven reserves. New discoveries and new drilling technology will likely vastly improve the current numbers over time.

  5. Proven oil supplies isnt how much oil is in the ground its how much oil is currently economically viable. Those numbers fluctuate with price and consumption rates. From what ive read Venezuela hasnt updated their proven oil reserves number in a decade when oil was over $100 a barrel, So their estimates a most probably bullshit.

  6. Who will need oil in 30 year? ( Yes of course some oil will be used but just of fraction of actual level)

  7. Canada has 172B barrels, which puts it pretty high on this, and this is 189y left. Other than Venezuela, no major reserve has as many years left in the tank as Canada, but Iran is surprisingly close.

  8. Crazy how Turkey has the largest economy out of all of them even though Turkey doesn’t have a fraction of the oil reserves the others possess.
