    I visited Skopje from Turkey last week and fell in love with the city (despite forgetting my passport!)


    Hi everyone

    I am a Turkish student. Last weekend, I decided to visit Skopje for a quick 24-hour trip. It started with a disaster because I forgot my passport in another city and had to wait for it at the bus terminal! 😅

    But once I arrived, I was amazed. I visited the Old Bazaar, prayed at the Murad Pasha Mosque, and ate delicious Kebapçık at Cosmos.

    I was really surprised by how many people spoke Turkish and how welcoming everyone was. It felt like a second home.

      So the first thing you did was look for a mosque then proceeded to compare us to Russia even though the Cyrillic alphabet was invented here in Ohrid not a 2 hours drive. And then spent the rest of the time talking with Albanians and glorifying an empire thats the reason for so much misery. The ending to your essay *Skopje, an Ottoman city just 1.5 hours from Istanbul, was the perfect start.* is the reason I want those lovely visas to be slapped on.

      mkd have been living with multicultural diversity for long time, first you must change your pov when you visit another country and accept the norms as they are and stop trying to search what you already have at home and try to get new inspirations and discoveries from other cultures and not nitpick what suits you or else what is the point of visiting another place just go visit other cities in your country

      I am gonna go to Turkey and make a blog about how it reminds me much of the time Macedonia took it over 2350-400 years ago and how everything I like about Turkey is specifically because of that and nothing else. Gonna end up calling Turkey in my blog “Macedonian province”.

      Oh and I will also say I feel like I am in some Roman state because of all the latinic scripts in Turkey 💀
