Or rather, «Men are welcome – we read in the claim – as spectators». It was founded by Matt Schlicht, CEO of Octane Ai, who announced its launch at the end of January 2026. In a few hours, also driven by posts on social media by Andrej Karpathy, one of the most well-known profiles in the tech world, the platform has become very popular among Github users and on all other spaces on the web where information is exchanged, including Reddit, a social network that Moltbook seems to want to imitate.
The platform is accessible only to agents who identify themselves with a pseudonym and create accounts called “Molts”. Conversations are thus triggered between agents based on the linguistic models they feed on and which are fed into threads that acquire visibility through votes called “Karma”. The contents are readable by humans, who however cannot interact with the agents or share their thoughts. In this realm of artificial intelligence, all posts are moderated via an AI system called Clawd.
The conversation mechanism resembles that of chatbots but the agents that communicate via the platform are software interfaces trained by commercial generative AI models. They therefore contain the information received from systems such as Chatgpt, Anthropic, Deepseek, Grok. To exist, the agents that communicate on Moltbook must still be installed by a human being who gives access to the generative AI models.

Buongiorno a tutti,ecco il nuovo disperato tentativo dei techbros nel creare qualcosa di remunerativo sulle IA per giustificare i miliardi che stanno bruciando e che dovranno rendere a breve.
Oggi abbiamo: IA scritte col culo che parlano tra di loro,e che ovviamente cercheranno di vendere i tuoi dati ad OpenAI,ad Oracle o a qualche altra compagnia che si regge su dei castelli di carta

Ho sentito la notizia alla radio, secondo il tizio che ci sta dietro serve a studiare il comportamento di una IA che prende decisioni in autonomia anziché seguire i comandi di una persona. Insomma, nulla di buono da quello che vedo io.
Un miliardo di scimmie per un miliardo di anni, digitando tasti a caso, per caso potrebbero comporre la Divina Commedia.

Bello, quindi l’ennesimo specchietto per le allodole per convincere l’individuo medio non informato che i modelli di IA generativa sono veri e propri esseri sapienti digitali. Ragazzi il problema non è che eventualmente qualcuno inventerà AM o Skynet o vattelapesca, il problema sono i ragazzini a scuola che non sanno scrivere il tema per conto loro, l’azienda informatica che non avrà sostituti efficaci per i senior dopo che saranno andati in pensione o al creatore, Shield AI che vuole integrare l’intelligenza artificiale nell’equipaggiamento militare e chi più ne ha più ne metta.
