Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, has assessed the Southern Gas Interconnection as a significant strategic interest for the country and an opportunity that cannot be missed, Report informs.
He made the remark during a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires John Ginkel.
During the meeting, the chairman primarily discussed with the American side the new wave of investment that the US plans to direct into Bosnia and Herzegovina’s infrastructure.
Ginkel briefed Zeljko Komsic on the latest developments related to the Southern Gas Interconnection project, emphasizing the high interest of American companies in this initiative.
In turn, Zeljko Komsic called the project a strategic interest for Bosnia and Herzegovina and described it as a significant development opportunity that the country cannot afford to miss.
The chargé d’Affaires noted that US interest is not limited to the gas sector, but encompasses various infrastructure and energy projects in the country. He said that the start of construction of the Southern Gas Interconnection will be an important signal to American investors that Bosnia and Herzegovina is truly open to accelerated construction and large-scale development.
