  1. Same, all the trains were down at State Library. We got told to go to Flinders St instead

Overhead power lines got caught and ripped down between Malvern and Armadale, by a faulty train pantograph.

    This picture cannot be real.

The totally legitimate grassroots anti-rail facebook groups keep telling me it’s empty and a waste.

We’ve been stuck on a train for one hour. Power is out and the sun is blazing down on the train. Stuck before Armadale..

No plans about how we will be evacuated.

  5. We’re now only on day three since full operations through the tunnel started, and this is already the 2nd time that the line has been suspended for power related issues.

The exact same thing happened on Sunday night and people were being dropped at Hawksburn at 10pm without any staff to direct them where to go for replacement buses.

So much for the tunnel increasing reliability…

1st day of the new route as a daily commute and what a shitshow. Its going to take me 2 hours for what used to be a 30 min trip.

They wernt even announcing the pakenhame line problems at southern cross or flinders as people transitioned to the metro tunnel. So people got off a frankston at flinders, walked to town hall, only then were informed of pakenham line problems, and that they had to walk back to flinders to get on another frankston line.

I just went past the two trains that are stationary between Armidale and Malvern. There are passengers on stationary trains for how long? An hour? They must be losing their minds. I feel for them.

  8. We went forwards and then backwards in the new tunnel at speed. The driver went to the other end of the train. The new signally must allow bi directional travel and it worked. We would have been stuck in the tunnel like some people baking at Armadale.

  9. Got a tram from Anzac to Punt road then walked down Toorak to South Yarra rather than wait for the tram to get through the traffic.

Then caught the most packed Frankston line train ever to Caulfield. Passed broken down Pak Cran trains with people fanning themselves with no AC

Wife picked me up from Cauldield to drop me at my car at Hugheadale.

    What a clusterfuck.

  10. Any crimebourne/pakenham people should head for a franga train and swap at caulfield according to the announcements.

  11. Was told there was power outages at Armadale, and no trains will be running between hawksburn and Malvern. But I just got off the Cheltanham train from flinders which stopped all stations, looked like a few trains inbound waiting unable to move at malvern and armadale.

Why were the cranbourne and pakenham trains impacted when they don’t go through armadale to begin with?

It’s a complete cluster#$%^. Chaos as signage/wayfinding is not coping with service changes.

  13. Been stuck on this train with no air con for 2hrs now. Bloody hot, people are frustrated. 000 calls have been made.

Can’t wait for a “sorry for the inconvenience cookie” tomorrow.

  14. Looks like the metro tunnel has been suspended. Boards outside stations are now advising that no metro tunnel trains are running.

We are stuck between Armadale and Malvern. No air con, can’t open the doors and it’s been almost 2 hours. Evac is now happening.

Happened this past Sunday night around 10pm at Malvern too. Really annoying as I was coming back from a gig.
