The revolutionary Rožava in the north-east of Syria has been setting an example of self-governing democracy, gender equality and inter-ethnic coexistence in practice for more than a decade. Its existence is seriously threatened today.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been forcibly displaced and hundreds killed in recent weeks. The interests of the USA, Turkey, Damascus, Israel and the EU were united in allowing this crime against humanity. Already during the course of the military attacks, the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, agreed to send 620 million euros to Syria.

The Solidarity Committee for Rožava in Ljubljana emphasized in a statement to the public that the aim of the attacks on Rožava "is not only the dismantling of the Rožava model, but also the systematic destruction of the very existence of the Kurdish nation and inter-ethnic coexistence in the region – especially as an attack on the sisterhood of the Arab and Kurdish nations".

"All of us who want a different world will continue to fight to preserve the democratic values of the women’s revolution in Rožava, as elsewhere in the world."

  2. Kar žalostno s temi Kurdi. So največji narod, brez svoje države in jih noben ne priznava.
