Apologies for blurry pics. Screenshot of dashcam footage. This bike whizzed past me and rode the Ann st/m3 ramp holding on to the car in front at about 50kmph. Pretty dangerous no?
Did it all the time in the 80’s. Nearly wiped out frequently.

As someone that used to live in Sydney and missed the cycle path exit the first time I was cycling to work over the Harbour Bridge, I dont blame this guy for wanting to get out of that situation as soon as possible. If there was a car I could have grabbed onto instead of the three minutes of deserved hoots and insults whilst cycling faster than I ever have, given I was blocking a full lane, well I don’t know where I’m going with this but it really sucked balls.

Like are they mates or the bike dude is just insane?

Expect this from some 19yo with dreads on a fixed gear. But this guy looks like a mamil – they usually don’t pull shit like this. And there’s a bikeway right underneath going the same way. He’s heading straight onto cyclist hell. Can’t figure this one out at all.
EDIT: got it! The ute cut him off and he’s in for revenge.

Yikes indeed, those tasmans are horrible

Just imagine a puncture at 50ks down that ramp.

Can’t peddle uphill? Pfffft.

Maybe he just wanted to ask the driver what possessed him to buy a vehicle this ugly.

This happened a few times to me in the early 2000s when I was a driver in the city and I had the Ute. Always on an uphill like Wharf street etc.

Don’t cars have to keep 1.5m away? Seems illegal.

We needed a video to see how he got himself out of that…or is there a a pink and black splatter on Coro this morning? The idiocy of some never ceases to amaze me.

I’m a cyclist and while I think this guy is an absolute legend I’m not sure I would want to be on that road ever (I’m also not sure it’s even allowed?). I wonder if he thought he could get onto the Bikeway that way?

Why would you want to be on a bike on the Riverside expressway. Scary enough in a car with all the entitled pricks trying to cut into non existent spaces to take Hale st exit.

The driver is not providing 1.5 metre clearance for the cyclist, he’ll probably complain about it now.
I’d hate to see the outcome if he came off his bike while doing that

Get a few beers into some blokes and they think they’re bulletproof, for others it’s a pushbike.

A ute and a cyclist acting in harmony? This is like those videos of unlikely animal friendships

Kind of more concerned about him riding down Coro in the middle of the day, it gets pretty tight and busy after this overpass.

“Towing with a bicycle”
“You must not:
ride a bicycle that is being towed by another vehicle
hold on to a moving vehicle while riding a bicycle
Seriously though – and saying this as a cyclist – this is dumb.
If he just went down under that on-ramp he’d find a ramp to the dedicated Bicentennial Bikeway which literally runs parallel to the this part of the Express way.
