The maximum penalty for serious animal cruelty is 7 years imprisonment. 240 hours of community service is manifestly inadequate. I hope the Attorney-General appeals the sentence.

Once again the legal system is well out of step with community expectations, animal cruelty penalties don’t even come close to what they should, they’re actually closer to the offender in their lack of empathy imho

They mention his wife in the present term. Nothing about them separating after any of this….. I personally wouldn’t stay with somebody cruel who tries to avoid responsibility for themselves. But then again I’ve never killed a dog.
