The maximum penalty for serious animal cruelty is 7 years imprisonment. 240 hours of community service is manifestly inadequate. I hope the Attorney-General appeals the sentence.

  2. I was only thinking about this yesterday. I feel sick every time it pops into my mind. Poor Arnie.

  3. 1-2 days stuck in that car dying a slow death while your piece of shit owner went on a bender. And the fucking judge calls it a mistake even though he made the decision to leave his dog in a hot car with the windows up.

Fuck this loser, hope his family leaves him.

  4. Once again the legal system is well out of step with community expectations, animal cruelty penalties don’t even come close to what they should, they’re actually closer to the offender in their lack of empathy imho

  5. Animal cruelty rarely results in anything other than community service.

Most of us value pets more than some people I wonder why.

“There are some people who have used your stupid and terrible mistake as a justification for some really intensive hatred,” she told the court.

“If we use mistakes as a justification for hatred, then we will end up in a hate-filled and intolerant world full of hate-filled, sad, intolerant people.”

Ms Vasta read a selection of Facebook comments to the court, which she described as “sickening”.

The court also heard McKeown and his family had gone into hiding at different addresses and that he had lost his job as his boss felt he could no longer guarantee his safety due to death threats.

The court heard a bomb sweep of the premises was conducted this morning, due to concerns about those threats.”

Seriously though I agree with the judge, this doofus is suffering enough as a result of his stupidity.

What a joke of a sentence for a waste of oxygen. Once again a slap on the wrist for an inhuman act. May he live in interesting times.

They mention his wife in the present term. Nothing about them separating after any of this….. I personally wouldn’t stay with somebody cruel who tries to avoid responsibility for themselves. But then again I’ve never killed a dog.
