  1. It is illusion. Just polish systems to report wrecks and abandoned cars are a bad joke. So this statistic is just incorrect, as the reported value is wrong.

So last year i’ve gone back to Poland after 10 years to clear stuff with my dead Family member and jesus one block with like 4 cars pro family…. Everything was full with cars, WTF ARE YOU GUYS DOING?

    It’s 2022 data.

There were a lot of “dead souls” (cars that didn’t exist anymore, but were still in the system) removed from the system in mid 2024.

Dam, and I was wondering why Poland felt cluttered. Last time I visited there were so many cars. Wish they don’t go the American way where they bulldozed cities for cars.

Have you been to Bucharest? It doesn’t seem right for them to be second to last 🤔

I heard that lots of “polish” cars are driving on the streets of Neapol (insurance is cheaper hear)and other Italians cities.

There are a few reasons for it.
1.The problem is your car also stays registered if it’s not running and just stands around in your yard.
    2. It’s totally affordable to have more than one car here cause insurance can be very cheap and you only pay one time Tax (VAT) when you buy the car. Not like in Germany where you pay Tax yearly.
I have 3 cars here and they don’t cost the world for me.

  9. The percentage of city dwellers in Poland is one of the lowest in the EU (60% in 2024). Maybe that is a contributing factor. While public transport in the cities is usually good countryside is a different story. The village I live in is only 10 km outside of a city of 200K residents but there is only one regular city bus line with several buses per day. There is a private bus and van company with a regular schedule that is adequate on weekdays but not on weekends. Living without a car around here is not easy. I drive elder family members shopping, for medical appointments, and to take care of their other business 2-3 times each week.
