    >Trump says he will only accept the midterm results ‘if the elections are honest’ and again pushes to ‘nationalize’ voting.

    >President Donald Trump also refused to rule out a third term

This feels like proposing National Socialist Voting…

  2. He doesn’t have a choice, just like he didn’t have a choice in 2020. The people will decide this election, not Trump.

  3. At what point does this senile dementia patient’s dangerous delusions trigger invocation of the 25th Amendment? Why does Donald Trump get away with bullying, outrageous claims of authority that he absolutely does not have, and corruption that would make a mob boss jealous? WTF!

  4. Translation: “They’re honest if we win, because I’m a clinical narcissist that can’t handle objective reality that threatens my worldview or my main character syndrome”

  5. It doesn’t matter what he “accepts” or doesn’t accept. When his term is up his ass is out. (And possibly in–prison.)

  6. So I just read the constitution and there is nothing about invalidating elections because it makes the president feel bad.

    If he’ll accept them?

Donald, nobody cares if you “accept” them.

And everybody knows you’re going to throw another tantrum.

It’s time for your “administration” to get the clobbering it desperately deserves.

  8. Not surprising. He is a repeat offender and should have been put behind bars after his first attempt overturn an election, just like Bolsonaro in Brazil. Too bad the US justice system is utter crap.

  9. Trump says… I’m so damn sick of that headline.

He says a lot of stupid shit, unimpeded, uncontested. The press buys ink to write stories about his brain farts. He picks fights when they don’t buy his ink and play his hits.

He can’t nationalize voting. Would take an act of Congress and 3/4 of states amending the constitution.

He can send troops to intimidate voters.

    >God forbid we should ever be 20. years without such a rebellion. The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.

Good thing there’s nothing requiring the president to “accept” elections that don’t involve him.

And now he’s pushing this idea of nationalizing voting like it’s some kind of loyalty test.

It’s starting to feel like one of those “you’re either with me or against me” moments where disagreement isn’t just disagreement, it’s treated as disloyalty.

The thing is- he said this from fucking day one, all the way back in 2015. He said “It’s only legitimate if I win, if I lose, it was rigged.”

  14. if only the party of ‘election integrity’ cared about actual security instead of just power grabs. terrifying stuff

  15. He is flat-out asking for a massive wave of protest to topple the government. I know he doesnt read, or know things, but he should take just a peek at the Euromaidan. Peaceful populist revolutions can absolutely topple Russian stooges.

    [March 1933 German federal election](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_1933_German_federal_election):

    > The 1933 election followed the previous year’s two elections (July and November) and Hitler’s appointment as Chancellor. In the months before the 1933 election, SA and SS displayed “terror, repression and propaganda … across the land”,  and Nazi organizations “monitored” the vote process. In Prussia 50,000 members of the SS, SA and Der Stahlhelm were ordered to monitor the votes by acting Interior Minister Hermann Göring, as auxiliary police

    > … However, the election was far from fair. Carried out in an atmosphere of intimidation and violence against political opponents, it was skewed heavily in the Nazis’ favour.

  17. there’s his caveat.

no matter the certification if its an undesired outcome it clearly wasnt honest…

  18. The serial predator in Trump always comes out. He only respects those who fight back and will push to find out who you are, like any predator.

e.g. Tulsi, Trump owns and humiliates her and constantly serves her humble pie, yet she keeps coming back for seconds instead of resigning, and this is in public, God knows what it must be like in private.

Trump is full of shit and old. His own children know better than to give much credence to what he says. They look at the money. Watch what his sycophants do, in their attempt to ignore democracy and the constitution.

  20. Gold_Drummer_4077 on

He doesn’t like polls that show he’s not popular. He doesn’t like it when anything’s taken from him because he’s got the mind of a child. Mine Mine Mine. In the words of Hollywood, “This will not end well for him.”

November 2026 will be the month the world learns whether the US is a democracy anymore.

Plenty of signs it’s on life support, but the Trump/Bannon push to completely corrupt the mid-terms will be the signature on the death certificate.

  22. Just to be clear. Trump has broken the law countless times now. Just because it is illegal, doesn’t and won’t prevent him from collecting ballots from across the country with the use of federal forces such as the FBI.

Lots of people say this won’t happen because it is unconstitutional. Or because it is obviously state jurisdiction. That. Doesn’t. Matter. He. Doesn’t. Care.

A State’s only recourse would be to have the national guard or police physically prevent the federal employee from doing this. There are likely few governors or mayors who would go to this length.

By the time the boxes and hard drives are in D.C., lawsuits are too late. And the election results become immediately into question. And we would officially be in a Putin era government.

States need to start deciding now what they would do in the instance of the federal government seizing their ballots.

  23. elections are honest means “if i win them they are honest, if i lose them they are rigged”

there’s no possible scenario where Trumpito Mussolini goes “yeah i lost it fair and square”

  24. And by “honest” he means they vote for Republicans. If a Republican wins, the election results are valid. If a Democrat wins, they were fraudulent. This country is dead because no one is standing up to this fascism.

  25. “Honest” == only white people vote.

This isn’t new, this is the voice of the South during Reconstruction.

  26. when the world biggest bullshitter starts talking about honesty we should probably be extremely concerned.
