The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Zaječar, Serbia, today re-indicted Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković on suspicion that they killed two-year-old girl Danka Ilić in Banjsko Polje near Bor on March 26, 2024, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reports.

In the indictment, which was filed after the investigation was supplemented, Dragijević and Janković are charged with the criminal offense of aggravated murder in complicity, while Radoslav Dragijević is charged with the criminal offenses of failure to report a criminal offense and assisting the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense, the prosecutor’s office announced.

The indictment was submitted to the court for confirmation.

The investigation was supplemented by an order from the Court of Appeal in Niš after it twice returned the decision confirming the indictment to the Higher Court in Zaječar, with the second time ordering that the decision be made by a completely new court panel, namely the Higher Court in Negotin.

In the indictment, the prosecution proposed that the court sentence Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković to life imprisonment.

It is suspected that on March 26, in Banjsko Polje near Bor, Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković first hit a two-year-old girl with a car from the JKP “Vodovod”, where they were employed, and then put her in the vehicle.

They are suspected of dumping her body in a landfill, from where it was later moved. The girl’s body was never found.

Radoslav Dragijević is suspected of helping his son move the girl’s body.

Dejan Dragijević’s brother, Dalibor Dragijević, died on April 7, 2024, in the premises of the Bor Police Department while in custody.
