driving down old northern road when i saw this car with massive poles on the roof, i have no clue what it was and didn't react fast enough to take a photo. the pole things were easily the height of the car. does anyone have any clue what the hell i saw????

  2. There’s one around northside with half a dozen long poles that at night all have leds on them.

    Its not distracting at all…

  3. It could also be an ACMA spectrum mapping vehicle.

    They get used to map radio signal intensities across areas and trace radio signal sources.

    Multiple aerials for multiple frequencies, and duplicate aerials for better positioning/analysis too (e.g. secondary signal cancellation)

  6. If the poles were up around the height of power lines or the like, it could be an oversized load transport company checking for low hanging infrastructure to plan a high load route.
