Two weaker earthquakes were felt last night in the southwestern part of Macedonia, the Seismological Observatory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje announced.

The first earthquake was recorded at 19:50 and was felt in Ohrid and the surrounding area with an intensity of III degrees according to the European Macroseismic Scale.

According to data, its epicenter was located in the territory of Greece, about 100 kilometers southeast of Skopje.

The second earthquake occurred at 23:10 and was felt in Bitola, Ohrid and surrounding areas, also with an intensity of III degrees according to the European Macroseismic Scale.

The epicenter of this tremor originated in neighboring Albania, about 150 kilometers southwest of Skopje, with a local magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale.

The Seismological Observatory indicates that these are low-intensity earthquakes, which are common for the wider region.
