Say it loud sydney – condemning the acts of the Israeli goverment and it’s crimes against humanity is NOT antisemitism.

The main protest is at 5:30 at Town Hall. There will likely be a massive crowd, as there well should be. See you all there and stay safe

Honestly, I’m actually pretty OK with this. I support the protests generally and hope people show up at townhall, but protesting at a wreath laying ceremony is poor form.

Sydney Eastern Suburbs has been segregated apartheid style so Hertzdog can feel at home.

I dont think Bondi, home to a large Aussie Jewish population, is the right location to stage a protest against an Israeli President.
Minns and Albo is to blame here. Protest where it hits them hard and lay off the Aussie Jewish community for a bit.

It’s not a crime to call out the atrocities of a foreign government. The Israeli government and the IDF are responsible for the deaths of multiple Australians, and they shouldn’t be welcomed in Australia. Shame on our government for welcoming the Israel president, and shame on the cops too

Looking forward to boycotting any business that welcomes him on his tour.

According to the SMH police have detained someone for yelling ‘boo’.
Fascist state in full swing…
Edit – another yelled “shame” and was arrested for ‘causing fear’. He now cannot return to Bondi – where he lives.

Bondi is not a good place to protest against Israel at the moment in my opinion.
Edit: Due to the recent shooting

This is way too disruptive to our CBD to host one sketchy foreign poli for what could have been a Teams call or an email. Don’t ban the protestors, ban the visitor.

Peaceful protesting bad, but inviting war criminals is fine.

I’m ok with the concept of keeping protesters away from mourners. It’s normal for the police to keep groups away from each other if they think it could result in conflict.
But everyone should show up to Town Hall at 5:30 today so no one can deny that most Australians know Herzog is a genocide-loving dipshit who is not welcome here.

Can’t wait to vote Mins the fuck out.
(then desperately vote in the next labor premier after liberals have screwed us)

The Israeli President coming to Australia and addressing the protestors, mere weeks after the Bondi attack, is the very definition of rage bait.
