Minns needs to resign.
Albo needs to resign.
Importing a war criminal here is on them. Having police chasing down people for peacefully protesting (up until they started violence). This is not on.

This is absolutely dystopian. Why the hell is our tax paying money going to terrorising our own citizens. People are protesting as should be their right in any democracy. Chris minns should be on trial for eroding fundamental freedoms of our society.

I don’t know about anyone else but an enormous pack of armed officers sprinting towards a crowd is not going to make people relaxed and makes things unsafe. This is messed up. People will get injured. A peaceful protest as well up until they decided to make things messy and start threatening arrests and pepper spraying people

Ah dystopia, should make the war criminal feel right at home

Not much ‘unity’ and ‘social cohesion’ to be seen
When will they arrest the war criminal?

Albo’s australia. Loving the social cohesion and unity on the streets. Way to go.

That’s a lot of police meaning business!
Not following the news to much and admittedly ignorant of middle east politics but this would be a nothing protest with people just stood outside townhall waving signs without the heavy handed policing provoking the situation?

Fuck the NSW Government and shame on Albo for inviting this guy.

Don’t forget. They let literal Nazis protest with no issues.
The other thing to remember though is this is not the first time police have charged people in Sydney – like, I’m glad it sort of looks like it will be a turning point for some people in how they are viewing this situation, but this isn’t like a sudden change or whatever. Police have always used tactics like this in various situations.

These protest laws were enacted in bad faith, as a knee jerk response to an event which had nothing to do with a very well attended protest. Have your opinion on various protests but make no mistake that they are of fundamental importance in a healthy democracy.
NSW Labor was founded by the union movement and should understand this better. As such remember 2 things when you vote next:
* In our preferential system it is impossible to “waste” your vote
* NSW Labor does not seem to have the best interests of democracy in their actions

Well done Albo – you’ve allowed a foreign power to mess up our country because you were too pissweak to tell them we’re different. We won’t be by the time this is over.

So are we not allowed to protest in this country any more??

Why the escalation? I didn’t see the protestors tossing or burning anything.

Vote Minns out. We genuinely need a Greens or independent premier here in NSW. Cause the Liberal and Labor candidates are two sides of the same coin.
