One of Australia’s top intelligence officials, Kathy Klugman, says the Indo-Pacific has become the epicentre of global rivalry and warned that the threat of Islamic extremism is not in the past.
“Its persistence is remarkable. Its threat is undeniable, and it remains a very close focus of many colleagues across the national intelligence community,” Klugman, the head of the Office for National Intelligence, told Senate estimates on Monday evening.
