    Repost due to title:

TLDR: Chris Minns defends police actions and blames the protestors

Says all the videos from yestarday were out of context

And Karl stefanovic does some terrible journalism by not pushing back at all.

All in all I hope he loses the state election in a landslide

Edit: there’s a protest outside Surry hill police station today at 5:30, I recon those who can should attend

  2. Protest against Minns, the NSW Police and the draconian laws that led to this abhorrent use of violence against our citizens.

    Fuck you Minns

  3. This is just fucked. Protesting is our right, and the way these cops acted is inexcusable. The cops need to go, and Minns needs to fuck right off.

  4. Nice editing channel 9 where you don’t show the police instigated that whole confrontation with the office worker. Didn’t show the first part where he had his hands up and not engaging whatsoever

  5. Aww poor police babies, needing ice their hands from punching on. What a fucking farce, minns will get voted out and pick up some Israeli funded job.

  6. “Police are not punching bags” is a very fucking stupid comment to make when we saw police treating people as literal punching bags.

    Fucking cunt.

  7. Man I thought Karl was a guy who stood up for the working class Australian. Looks like the lobby groups got him too. What a absolute wanker

Edit* I have been out of the loop with mainstream media for while

  8. Legacy media never more irrelevant except to boomers. If they didn’t spin it this way, they would probably lose access to the Premier.

If you dislike what the police did, there’s a flash rally outside the Surry Hills police station at 5:30pm today. (It’s outside the “Special Event”/“police can punch anyone they like with impunity” zone)

Fucking Labour, they always know how to score an own goal. Took them more than 10 years to get back into a decent shape in NSW this will set them back another 10.

  11. We cannot allow this to be our ICE moment.

Fuck this, it is so so so so wrong. These laws, this state visit, all of it is disgusting. Not as disgusting as Bondi granted, but this is not what we do as Australians.

Why are we now in a world where these ELECTED politicians think they have more power than the people. We need to take more notes from the French.

  12. Voted Labor for years and years but I am completely disenfranchised with Minns’ leadership. The guy is a sellout.

  13. I’m a Labor supporter but Chris Minns isn’t it. Any other politicians that condemned the police actions?

  14. Here’s a funny ridiculous quote from Minns today.

    >Police didn’t go out there looking for fights, police didn’t go out there looking for violence

    And some from the commisioner

    >They’re [organisers] always very quick to say they don’t want violence, they don’t want conflict but when they’re on microphones telling crowds to do the wrong thing, telling crowds to take on police, this is what happens

    >please understand they are small videos being put up and I would say out of context of what was a rolling melee of violence and un-Australian and inappropriate behaviour tonight

The irony is so thick. He talks about context yet misses the BIGGER context that the peaceful march was disallowed. All the organisers wanted to do was to peacefully march but they weren’t allowed so the cops had to use violence to arrest them.

UnAustralian? That’s even more absurd to use when MINSS BANNED A PROTEST.

The videos I saw last night depicted a different story it was nothing but brutality the way the police threw as many people to the ground that they can find who are not even combative.

  16. Correction to Minns: They did everything to create the situation. Protest was peaceful – go see my footage posted on here from the tram to see that it was just people standing around. They could have let people meet, then march and go home. They decided not to let people get in to stand with the protest (creating conflict) they pushed people back and gave them the runaround. They also wouldn’t let people march, holding them behind a line of police so they were stuck at town hall. They then started pushing people around and spraying them with pepper spray purely to make them comply for the sake of compliance. They decided to push and drag people around because they thought they could.

They could have just got out of the way, but they were under orders to prevent people from marching “Just because”.

The police then escalated by threatening everyone with arrest for not clearing the area (oh you’re blocking the path etc), but not to march elsewhere of course..

Now blaming protesters for the police violence is a common trick. But enough footage caught this on camera for a change. People aren’t as fooled by the media just refusing to report it at all or else reframing it with a few curated pictures that cast enough doubt. They will try of course

  17. How do you expect police to react when there is a group of men peacefully praying? For all we know they were praying for god to strike down the police. Did you ever think of that? It was clearly self defense!

I was there. Minns is a lying sack of shit. Cops were definitely the instigators. They were kettling people up and aggressively jostling them.

  19. “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command”

This is devastating. I try to teach my child that police are there to help us and protect us. How can I say that in good conscience seeing all these videos of police assaulting multiple people. How can Chris Minns defend this, does he not have eyes?
