So they know the only way they can win is by cheating and lying, but they don’t have a single moment of self-reflection that they should change their policies if they want to win.
They are admitting and acknowledging that they are unpopular, but they think everybody else is wrong.
Whelp, it’s Utah, where the Mormon church controls everything at some level. You can damn sure believe that if the church didn’t want this, the local Utah GOP wouldn’t be pushing this hard.
For those who aren’t familiar, Utah voters overwhelmingly voted and approved a constitutional amendment to ban partisan gerrymandering and to have a nonpartisan commission draw the maps. That would result in a Salt Lake District that would almost guarantee to be a Democratic seat, so it would go from a 4-0 delegation to 3-1.
The Utah voters knew this, and voted for it.
The Utah Legislature has spent every year since either ignoring the result, trying to overturn it, draw their own maps, to now, repealing.
Yet Utah voters will vote these same twats back into office every year.
