This is a huge warning to Europe, where the far right has been on the march long before Trump exploded in the US.
EU approval has flipped in recent years. The eastern countries that used to be the most enthusiastic boosters of membership now lag behind, and rich Northern Europeans lead the way in approval. EU approval looks similar to this map.
Working people feel that self interested elites dominate their governing structures, and some of them are attracted to politicians like Trump. They are also attracted to far right politicians in Europe. Europe is in danger of a far right takeover in the style of the US, and for the same reasons.
