  1. State forests don’t burn as intensely and destructively as national parks as there is less red tape when pursuing fuel reduction burns.

    State forests also generally have better access than national parks as the tracks are open.

    I don’t need to read this article (I’ve read plenty of literature on the matter) to know that fuel loads are a huge issue in vic in these areas that I frequent.

  2. Yet another ABC article too afraid to mention the climate crisis and the fossil fuel industry that’s creating it.

    Particularly because without the amazing aerial firefighting capability that we have now, the loss of life and property due to fires would be vastly greater than in years past when we relied on trucks and rakehoes.
