On February 10, 2026, a quadrilateral meeting was held in Ashgabat between Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), one of the AZCON Holding companies, Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan Mammed Akmammedov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uzbekistan Railways JSC Zufar Narzullayev, and General Director of Georgian Railways JSC Lasha Abashidze, ADY told APA-Economics.

At the meeting, the parties considered issues of mutual interest, opportunities for expanding cooperation in the railway sector, as well as on the Middle Corridor, one of the main transit routes of the region.

They also exchanged views on increasing the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor, increasing the volume of transportation on this route, and emphasized the importance of digitalization of operations in terms of more efficient implementation of cargo transportation.

It was noted that the “Memorandum of Understanding on transport and logistics cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, signed in Turkmenbashi in August last year, will make a significant contribution to expanding cooperation.

As a result of the quadrilateral meeting, a protocol was signed covering areas such as digitalization and development of freight transportation on the Middle Corridor, as well as diagnostics of the corridor.
