Bosch has announced that Dan Lăzărescu, General Manager of Robert Bosch S.R.L. and representative of the Bosch Group in Romania, has also taken over the role of Director of the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj as of January 2026.
The move follows his appointment at the helm of Bosch’s operations in Romania in October 2025 and aims to strengthen coordination between the company’s local entities.
Dan Lăzărescu succeeds Tobias Matter, who led the Engineering Center in Cluj for four years and will take on a new position within the company at the beginning of 2026.
“My priority is to further strengthen Romania’s position within our global innovation ecosystem. Despite a challenging context for the entire automotive industry, I will continue to focus on aspects that are fundamental to the organisation’s success, such as strengthening competitiveness, fostering innovation, and accelerating digitalization,” said Dan Lăzărescu.
Dan Lăzărescu has served as General Manager of Robert Bosch S.R.L. since October 2025 and as Director of the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj since January 2026. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) since June 2025. A graduate of the Politehnica University of Bucharest, where he also obtained a PhD in digital signal processing for automotive applications, Lăzărescu began his career with Bosch in Stuttgart in 2001. He has held leadership roles in Stuttgart, Budapest, and Cluj-Napoca, with responsibilities including the development of automotive control units and the coordination of hardware and advanced driver assistance solutions for global markets. Throughout his career, he has led teams of more than 500 people.
Under the leadership of Tobias Matter, the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj expanded its operations and inaugurated a second office building in 2024.
