  1. The French did some research into Grok and over an 11 day period 26,000 images were created of children with the undress prompt across the globe.

The problem is that he’s created a tool that makes harming children mainstream. Not to mention all the bots flooding X with their divisive messaging

Elon Musk has made it 100% crystal clear that one of his main life goals is to get right-wing parties elected that will push for deregulation, tax cuts, and oligarchy across the board.  He succeeded in the USA, and the entire world is suffering for it.

Banning his companies completely is the only sane reaction.

  3. I’m not gonna lie, I would GREATLY miss Twitter (not X) if it gets banned. But I hate Musk more so I’d support it.

The EU pretends it’s protecting citizens, but in reality it’s trying to micromanage speech. X is the last platform where unfiltered discussion still exists; Brussels just wants to turn every post into a compliance checkbox. Free expression isn’t a crime — regulatory overreach is.

  5. Well, even more important that it’s a propaganda channel for the far right.

Also put import restrictions on anyone and anything coming from the US admin or oligarchy.

  6. That is some way to twist the statistic. The percentage is 47%, so basically would be classified a minority in democratic terms.

What if the headline was 53% are against banning X? or The Majority of the Europeans are against banning X?

I am not referring to whether we should be banning X or not. This is more about how facts are being twisted to suit a narrative.

  7. Continues ?

If you break the law, you pay the price. You don’t get to break it until some arbitrary bounds are breached.

  8. i hate propaganda headlines like this.
the only reason to write an article like this is to generate a favourable public sentiment towards censorship.
if this continues there will be no internet access without scanning your face.

    FUCK THAT!!
    musk sucks tho.

  9. I would back banning Tweeter even if it stopped breaking laws. I would back banning it long before Elon bought it. The fact he made it worse is a praiseworthy achievement.

It’s funny how easily people fall to facts manipulation. Because if we paraphrase the headline it will be “Most Europeans don’t want Musk’s X being banned even if it keeps breaking EU law”.

**A new YouGov survey across Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Poland shows nearly half of Europeans (47 percent) would back banning social media platform X from the EU if it continues to breach EU rules.**

Almost one in two Europeans would support banning the social media platform X from the European Union if it continues to breach EU rules, according to a new YouGov survey conducted across five major member states.

The polling, carried out in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Poland, suggests growing frustration among voters around what they see as a lack of compliance by the [**Elon Musk-owned**](https://www.euronews.com/next/2026/02/09/is-elon-musks-spacex-launching-a-starlink-smartphone) platform with European digital regulations.

Between 60 and 78 percent of respondents in each country said the EU should take further action against X if it fails to address breaches identified by the European Commission last year.

Among those in favour of more measures, a majority – ranging from 62 to 73 percent – said the platform should be banned if it refuses to comply. Overall, 47 percent of all respondents supported a potential ban.

The findings come after the[ **European Commission fined X**](https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/12/05/european-commission-hits-elon-musks-social-network-x-with-120-million-fine) €120 million on 5 December last year under the Digital Services Act (DSA) for failing to meet transparency obligations.

At the centre of the probe is the blue checkmark, previously used to signal official accounts at no cost but now sold for €7 a month, which risks confusing users about the veracity of identities.

The Commission also found that X did not comply with the transparency obligation for advertising on social media platforms, blurring the line between advertising and content that could lead to financial scams for users. X now has 90 working days to respond to the findings.

Since then, the company and its built-in AI assistant, [**Grok**](https://www.euronews.com/next/2026/01/29/elon-musks-grok-ai-chatbot-ranks-worst-in-countering-antisemitic-content-adl-study-finds), have also faced further scrutiny. Critics accuse the platform of amplifying harmful content, including [**deepfake pornography**](https://www.euronews.com/next/2026/01/21/elon-musks-grok-still-being-used-to-generate-explicit-images-despite-new-safeguards-study-) and child sexual abuse material.

French prosecutors last week [**raided X’s Paris office**](https://www.euronews.com/2026/02/03/paris-prosecutors-search-french-offices-of-elon-musks-x) as part of an ongoing investigation into child abuse content.

  12. What the hell is wrong with half the people in Europe? Why shouldn’t Europe ban X if continue to break the law?

  13. There should ne no IF about it. Just ban him and his companies. The world would be a better place. Then do the same for his friends.

  14. Heavenly_Noodles on

If European Redditors’ views are anything to go by, they would happily turn Europe into North Korea-lite if they could.

  15. “Nearly half”

    Why not

    “Less than half”

    ?

Doesn’t work on psyhe the same way does it? 😂 commie censorship making its return and people are cheering for it 😆

  16. Please do it! These oligarchs need to start facing consequences. It sure isnt going to happen in the states.

  17. Weak_Definition_4321 on

I would ban Facebook, x, WhatsApp, Tesla, Russians and that would be just a starter.

  18. BigDogBossHog_ on

lol you can’t ban things on the internet as much as you would like, authoritarian nonsense.

  19. lemonprincess23 on

So in other words over half of Europeans would not ask for a ban even if Twitter blatantly violated EU laws?

  20. The headline says „if it keeps breaking EU law.” So by definition, it has already broken EU law and is not banned yet?
