  1. Welcome to our completely unpolitical games. We want you to have a great time. Now watch someone who isnt allowed to compete under his countries flag because that country invaded a neighbour followed by one of those neighbours who will probably be disqualified because he insists on showing war casualties on his helmet. Next to run are the athletes from US and Israel. Hard times for the PR department.

  2. Tbf, good ruling for once. The rules schould apply to everyone, no matter how sympathetic or just the cause.

  3. There is *a* value in sticking to rules, if you like the rule generally, even if it’s inconvenient in a particular instance. That’s more or less Kant’s categorical imperative.

*Is* the rule that there should be no political messages a rule that is worth something or should it be abolished? *Maybe* it should.

Eventually, there will be separate Olympic Games for groups of countries that share similar moral values.

I mean — not allowing Russian flags is already a political message. The interlinking Olympic rings are also a political symbol for piece, just like this helmet.

Should have had some shitty AI generated image of those athletes on the helmet. Then the IOC would fall in love with the idea.

  5. he should have put the faces in a customised cola bottle and drink from there so the IOC would have imploded in itself.

  6. Funny how child rapist Steven van de Velde was allowed to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics, but pictures of murdered people on a helmet is a big no no.
