North Macedonian citizen arrested for offering 5 euros bribe to police officer in Vërmica

A citizen of North Macedonia was arrested on Monday evening, February 9, 2026, at around 20:55 PM, at the Vërmica Border Crossing Point, on suspicion of the criminal offense of “Giving Bribery”.
According to the Police announcement, during the document check, the suspect attempted to bribe the police officer by inserting 5 euros worth of money into his documents.
By decision of the competent prosecutor, after the interview, the suspect was taken into custody, while the case will be handled in a regular legal procedure.
