Team Switzerland News & Notes:
Switzerland has not medaled at the Olympics since 1948, when they won the bronze. In their most recent Olympic appearance in 2022, they finished in 8th place, with a 1–3–0 record in group play. Their lone victory came against Czechia, 4–2, before they fell to Finland, 5–1, in the quarterfinals.
Team France News & Notes:
France has not medaled in ice hockey at the Olympics. Their last Olympic appearance was in 2002, and 2026 will mark their first Olympic hockey appearance in 24 years. They finished in 14th place, going 0-2-1 in the preliminary round, tying Switzerland, before losing to Belarus and Ukraine. In the classification round, they fell to Slovakia 7-1. France’s best results came with three 5th-place finishes in 1920, 1924, and 1928.
