I’m surprised Hungary hasn’t adopted the Euro yet.Â

“Criteria” is passing a bill through a parlament, which could be infinitely postponed.

And Luxembourg has been in the Eurozone from the start

Poland and Czechia mey the criteria years ago, but there’s no political will to adopt euro.
Sweden opted out in 2003. (like Denmark)
So the map is kinda bullshit

Romania, maybe? The others clearly refuse to adopt it.

Technically we have an opt-out in Sweden as well as we can just go “nah, we don’t feel like it” and postpone the required decision making indefinitely.

Sweden is not adopting the euro any time soon

Note that the Danish Krone is pegged against the Euro unlike the yellow countries, so they have an “opt-out”, but it’s technically Euro anyway just with another name.

Colour blind: nice colour differentiation, except I had to zoom to find Denmark.

Fun fact: if this would be a world map, the red color (non-EU members using the euro) would be also Zimbabwe and North Korea. Both use them don’t use a single currency, but a pool of more currencies, a part of which is also the euro.

Don’t think so that we can say that the Poland is committed to join euro currency. There’s no social and main politicians consent for that.

“After meeting the criteria”? That’s a very confusing way to write “when they want to”
