  1. The US has dropped the ball on this one, big time. There’s no excuse and no recourse. The US fucked up, big time.

Fuck Trump and his incompetent government of rus-loving fascist scumbags.

It is important to notice that a significant part of the military aid the Europeans give is actually American-made. Paid for by Europe, but not made in Europe.

Today someone from Portugal, speaking about the worse rains ever recorded in the country, told me: “recovery will be immensely expensive. I think the EU will have to help. They gave so much money to Ukraine, it is certainly possible to help Portugal due to the floods”.

I froze. Both things are totally unrelated, and I also know this person is a big supporter of Ukraine. But I feel like I’m seeing the future and how the gigantic financial support to Ukraine might be manipulated into the populist discourse if the EU won’t be obviously and loudly present to support members states in situations like this.

  4. Great to see Europe stepping up to the plate. And not just this, there are a whole host of initiatives currently in progress to reduce our dependence on the USA: Defence, Tech, Finance, etc.

Europe will come out of this stronger.

Not sure why Ukraine is still doing Trump’s bidding if US support is so low. Starlink and SIGINT?

The leverage that Trump is exerting now is not that he will discontinue aid to Ukraine because other than some very select weapons they are not providing aid to Ukraine anymore. Rather it is that he will resume economic trade and and cease American sanctions on Russia.

Strategic autonomy. If Europe doesn’t learn its lesson now then it’s stuck between a great power rivalry between US and China and an existential threat from Russia. It’s gonna cost short term goals, but will reward in the long-term.

  8. Reminder that the US funded 20 years of Vietnam war, plus 75% of the French/Indochine war for another 7 years.

    For perspective.

Always said so, it was the plan all the way. US has minerals “deal” and EU is picking the tab… And if they won’t do anything about it will have a RU on their doors…

  10. America is doing business as usual, never spending more than they can earn profit. That’s why they’re after Ukraine’s resources now to cash out their inital “investment”.
Europe doesn’t really have a choice and also seems that will be the most affected by this war, except Ukraine.

  11. You know the best of that war?

All the gangs in Europe now use military grade weapons they bought from Ukraine and the civilians are paying and suffering the consequences.

Other nice facts are a country with a war and crowded of celebrities and politicians going there to make the photo. And the women celebrating at disco when the men are dying.
I doubt those things ever happened before.
