    Team Germany News & Notes:

Germany participated in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, finishing 1–2-0 in group play, with their lone win coming against China. They were then eliminated in the knockout round, losing 4–0 to Slovakia. The last time Germany medaled in Olympic men’s ice hockey was in 2018, when they won silver. That was their third Olympic medal in ice hockey history, following bronze medals in 1932 and 1976. The 1976 bronze was won by West Germany during the Cold War era, when Germany was divided by the Berlin Wall and East and West Germany competed as separate countries at the Olympics.

    Team Denmark News & Notes:

Denmark will be competing in just their second-ever Olympic appearance in men’s ice hockey. In 2022, they finished seventh overall. They went 2-0-1 in group play before falling short in the knockout round, losing 3-1 to the ROC. At the 2025 IIHF World Championship, Denmark finished fourth but earned a historic 3-2 win over Canada for the first time, advancing to the semi-finals.
