>The royal house emphasises that since the reform of criminal law in 2015, the legal situation for women seeking an abortion has improved significantly. Women are no longer prosecuted if they have an abortion.
…
>If rejected by the Landtag, a referendum will be held. In both cases, the Liechtenstein monarch has the right to refuse to sanction the law.
You can beat me up if you like, but I will always call this guy a dictator.
Unfortunately, Liechtenstein is very conservative. The pope created a new Archdiocese in Liechtenstein to get rid of bishop Wolfgang Haas (read up on him, terrible guy) because he reckoned the Liechtensteiners were conservative enough to accept him. The current solution with abortion is mostly accepted because they can pretend they are uber moral catholics who ban abortion but since they have to go to Switzerland, Austria or Germany to get it done anyway it doesn’t matter, they still have the option. Technically law enforcement can go after women who had an abortion abroad but in practice this rarely to never happens.
They need to do away with that prince / wannabe dictator tbh.
Insert the SpongeBob “oh brother, this guy STINKS” meme. Like seriously I lived in Vienna for a bit and that family is such a leech. They have all of this impressive art they hoard in their stadt palais and don’t let the “peasants” see except for one day out of the year.
*some* women in Liechtenstein . The women that march are indeed women, but they do not represent all women.
They could just end that mediveal monarchy as well….
So close to a democracy yet so far away…
wtf
