Financial scope of the package and the countries’ participation

The statement notes that the total value of the arms package is €420 million (over $500 million). The Netherlands’ contribution is estimated at around €90 million. These funds are drawn from the previously announced €750 million.

The Dutch Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans voiced the position during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Brussels.

It is also reported that the Netherlands will provide F-16 simulators to Ukraine for training Ukrainian pilots.

Despite all diplomatic efforts, we see daily that Russian terrorist attacks continue. At temperatures down to -20°C in Ukraine, Russian drones and missiles are deliberately aimed at the energy infrastructure. This is simply a crime. That is why it is extremely important to continue actively supporting Ukraine – especially with air defense capabilities. Together with the United Kingdom, Norway and Sweden we are again making a meaningful contribution in this regard. It is very important that other European countries also join in

– Ruben Brekelmans
