In the fourth quarter of 2025, the average monthly wages and salaries in Bulgaria reached BGN 2,678 (EUR 1,369.24), an increase of 5.1% compared to the third quarter of 2025, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) announced on Friday. The economic activities in which the largest increase was registered were Education (13%), Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (8.5%), and Arts, entertainment and recreation (7.9%). 
 
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 11%, with the highest growth rates were recorded in the economic activities: Real estate activities (18.1%), Administrative and support service activities (15.6%), and Construction (15.2%). 
 
In the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, the average monthly salary in the public sector grew by 10.6%, and in the private sector by 11.2%. 
 
According to NSI data, the average salary in the fourth quarter of 2024 was BGN 2,413 (EUR 1,233.75), with a quarterly growth of 6.1 %, and an annual growth of 13.7%. 2025 started with an average salary of BGN 2,443 (EUR 1,249.09), with growths of 1.2% and 11.1%, respectively. 
 
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the average salary in the public sector increased by 12%, and in the private sector by 14.2 %. At the beginning of last year, the average salary in the public sector grew by 9.2%, and in the private sector by 11.8 %.
