An ulterior motive for picking it for the Olympic stadium? Colour me shocked and call me a NIMBY

  2. So its not being sold off to developers at all… What a disingenuous article, Its being sold to the GIICA which is a state owned entity.

Build the stadium. Nobody cares what NIMBYs say. They want to live 1km from the CBD and pretend they live in outer suburbia.

If people are stating ‘It’s freehold but owned by GIICA and therefore the state still own it’ have not copped on or conveniently want to create a distraction. They are looking for excuses for the LNP. Freehold status gives the rights to sell the land and why does the LNP want this .., because they want the right to sell it off. It’s that simple. It’s not a precondition for a state owned development to be freehold and a stadium can be built without the land being freehold. Wake up.

  5. I’d suggest 90% of people complaining about this land being turned into a stadium wouldn’t have even visited VP recently

  6. this government isn’t even trying to hide its corruption so they must be planning to use the “mentality incompetent” defense when the day of reckoning hits them.

So many politicians and senior public servants are setting themselves up for a huge retirement bonus…. royal commission and criminal convictions (proceeds gained from crime) to punish them where it hurts them the most.

It’s why the LNP has only governed in short bursts since its gerrymander under Joh came to an end.

As soon as back in Office – grift, graft, corruption and the gobbling up of whatever assets can be pried loose – leads once more to its ousting as voters suddenly remember the sort of people they mistakenly returned to government.

Lying is always the least of LNP sins.

  8. So we not only lost land to the stadium, but now we lose even more to developers.

    Incredible stuff.
