I analyzed how much of the housing stock is actually used for permanent housing, compared to empty and only occasionally used housing units.

Large regional differences are noticeable. The largest shares are held by the countries of Northern, Central and Western Europe, and the smallest shares of the housing stock used for permanent housing are held by the countries of Southern and South-Eastern Europe.

Emigration abroad, migration from villages to cities, tourism, short-term rent, holiday homes, buying real estate as an investment, but also money laundering through the real estate market – increases the share of empty and underutilized apartments.

  1. Preko stanova se pere lova. Treba udarit godisnji porez 5% vrijednosti nekretnine na sve prazne stanove u zgradama mlađim od 30 godina, i brzo ce se rijesit problem preskupih cijena stanova i previsokih cijena najma.

    Imas stan od 150000 eura i neda ti se gnjavit s podstanarima za 500,600 eura mjesečno? Ok, plati 7500 eura godisnjeg poreza, kad ti ta lova ne treba.

  2. Kad je pola obale apartmani u smislu turizma a pola stanova u Zagrebu su “ulaganje” dolazimo do apsurda da nikad vise zgrada se ne gradi a nikad manje stanova za kupit.

  3. Nema šanse da samo 10% čine apartmani. Bar pola onih “praznih” stanova su ilegalni apartmani i vikendice.

    A što se tiče praznih stanova, provozajte se malo kroz sela koja nisu oko Zagreba i Varaždina i uz obalu. Trećina kuća su prazne.
