NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska, in an interview with the Beta news agency, also spoke about Serbia’s complaints about the military agreement between Croatia, Albania and Kosovo, Express reports.

She said that Croatia and Albania are reliable NATO allies and contributors to regional stability.

“Albania and Croatia are not only reliable and valuable allies within the Alliance. They are also important contributors to regional peace and stability. They are present in KFOR, but in general they are very focused on supporting this agenda in the region,” said Shekerinska.

The senior NATO official has also announced that NATO is not involved in these discussions between Croatia, Albania and Kosovo, and that being a NATO member is not an obstacle for an allied state to make other defense agreements with third parties.

“What we see in general is that, of course, the global geopolitical situation has also affected the region. You see more exercises, more investments in defense and security, but we always call on allies and partners to also engage in political dialogue and resolving outstanding issues in the region. Our presence in the Western Balkans aims to support this kind of political dialogue,” said Shekerinska.

Days ago, official Belgrade reacted to the agreement and meetings between Croatia, Albania and Kosovo, portraying such a development as a threat to Serbia. /Express/
