There are around 3000 athletes, so 10 000 running out so fast isn’t really surprising

Although it may sound like tabloid news, the distribution of condoms has been an official policy of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since the 1988 Seoul Games. The original objective was to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, but over time it has become an expected statistic at each edition.

  3. Lots of people just fill their bags with olympic branded condoms.

It’s still a lot of shagging, but not just that.

The surprise and pearl clutching from the media that hundreds of young athletes at peak fitness absolutely pissing testosterone having the best time of their lives are having a lot of sex and generally enjoying themselves is so predictable.

  5. Some athletes don’t make that much money and condoms are pretty expensive. I’d fill my pockets with them as well

  6. So the winter Olympics is in crisis because it’s run out of condoms, but not because the IOC has banned a competitor for wanting to commemorate the athletes that were murdered by Russia? I think someone has their priorities somewhat screwed up! 🤔

  7. The stock was only 10,000, for weeks? 😅

I remember organising 2-day festivals and 5 times that were available.

In crisis? Are the athletes not allowed to buy their own condoms? I can assure you they are not hard to find in Italy and in Milan especially.

  9. “Italy on the verge of collapse due to lack of condoms” cmon whats with the headlines. Stupid…

  10. My wife (100m runner) is so stupid. She took so many condoms with her to the Olympics although I am not there lol
