The first five Stryker armored combat vehicles have arrived at the port of Burgas, marking the launch of another major modernization project for the Bulgarian Army during the current government’s term, the Ministry of Defence press office announced.
Deliveries of the new Stryker combat and support vehicles for the Land Forces have officially begun. The shipments are being carried out under international contracts signed by the Ministry of Defence as part of the core modernization programs for the Bulgarian Army.
The initial five armored combat vehicles arrived in Burgas on 14 February as part of a delivery from the United States and Canada. In line with the industrial cooperation arrangements as stipulated in the contract, they will be transported to the TEREM–Ivaylo plant in Veliko Tarnovo for final assembly before being handed over to the 61st Mechanized Brigade in Karlovo.
