  1. In Wisconsin, Menominee County is practically identical to the Menominee Indian Reservation. It was formed by the state when the Menominees temporarily lost official federal recognition – later restored.

  2. I’m fascinated by the mapmaker’s choice to start out with letters, then move to symbols, then finally start using numbers (but starting with 0).

    How absolutely sad we murdered all of the Indians. We always hear about other minorities in America being oppressed, but they never seem to be heard. Shockingly shameful

  4. There is no way that Native Americans are 8% of the population of Northeast Alabama unless all the white people there falsely claim Cherokee ancestry.
