I found this 1867 oil painting by Joseph Backler on the "Highgate Hill and its History" blog.
As far as I can tell, the view is from the intersection of Gladstone Rd and Gloucester St, but correct me if I'm wrong.
How many landmarks, existing or long gone, can you spot?

The Old Windmill on Spring Hill.
I think that tree is still there
Old Victoria Bridge and the Kangaroo Point cliffs through the trees and old Government House
I think I can see Ricks in the Valley.
Ya mum
Suncorp stadium. But was called Lang park back then.
I see ye olde Bunnings
Queen Street Mall HJs
The river Brisbane.
That cloud center left looks suspiciously familiar
The great blue snake.
Is that the lighthouse that’s near present day Brisbane Private Hospital, about 1/5 way in from the left side?
