As much as I HATE to say it, I really don’t think anything will come of the actions by police last week. Most (if not all) of the state government is behind them and approve of what they did. I know LECC are taking over the investigation of police at that protest but I bet you 2 – 1 they will say everything was above board.
It sucks but that’s what will most likely happen

Why is Karen attempting to justify police brutality?

Wouldn’t surprise me if this is a templated response sent to government MPs

And here we can contrast the professional and respectful response the politician gave with the unhinged responses of the protestors and their Reditor supporters.

That’s funny. Jo Haylen’s reply to me was almost identical for the first three paragraphs. Sounds like our MP bootlickers are reading from a playbook that Macquarie St has sent them.

Yeah this is a template response.
All the parliamentary offices have these templates on can , they often get updates for issues daily or weekly.
Some poor comms graduate job is to respond to emails with copy and paste.
Regardless
This has revisionist history written all over it.

What examples of police brutality are people referring to? The clips I’ve seen show a man resisting arrest and biting an officer, and another where police asked people who had begun praying to move on as things were getting tense. That’s what I’ve seen so far.

At least you got a response, I’ve heard nothing from my local member.

The mourners at the ICC excuse is wild because the march was intended to head in the opposite direction.

Lol Josh Lees should have got you lot to go to Hyde Park, but no, he wanted a confrontation. Then he showed no leadership in getting you to disperse and ran away while leaving the mob to fight with police. Remember this is the same guy that wanted everyone locked down during covid.

To be fair, what happened with the cops was always going to happen.
The bigger issue was, why did we invite the president of a country with strong allegations of massive war crimes happening to the CBD.
there was no doubt always going to be massive protests followed by police brutality.

Wow, some protestors tried to breach police lines. And yet there is no footage of protestors advancing on police, you would think in this day and age that if that happened it would be all over the place.

They’re all hiding behind “oh they tried to breach lines” but forgetting what happened at point a doesn’t excuse the response at points b and c.
They crowded the crowd and made it difficult to leave, then chased people through the streets. Those alone I could excuse based on the reasoning MPs have provided but not one political or enforcement representative has decided to explain the videos everyone is outraged by.
