Consensual incest between adult siblings by country:

  1. Prison sentence is probably inaccurate in many countries. In Finland for example maximum penalty in the law for incest is indeed two years in prison, but the law (and the punishment scale) includes parent-child incest and one would obviously only be looking for a fine for consensual incest between adult siblings.

I’m confused as to why it would be illegal. Like, adults doing what they want and not hurting anyone and go to prison for it?

Can someone explain why it’s legal/ illegal for one type of couple but not the other? Referring to yellow and purple.

  4. I genuinely question does these laws actually prevent incest or do they just make the everything from healthcare to social services much more messy and dangerous in the very rare cases that someone becomes pregnant.

  5. ya might worry that jamaica inbred baby with the yellow laws, but related guyana(l) sex won’t…..

    ……ok i’ll leave

  6. This is unreliable. I found this map on wiki, where Serbia is blue, while Wiki also claims Serbia has various prison sentences for incest. I checked local legislation (never thought of checking this before) and it confirmed incest is punishable by law.

  7. “Illegal only if provokes public scandal” is such an interesting criterion

I wonder if it applies to any other transgressions

what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… unless it’s incest between adult siblings in which case it’s life imprisonment

Afghanistan has the death penalty for sibling incest, yet 30% of all marriages are between first cousins. Fucking bizarre.

  10. Kazakhstan is seriously misleading.
There are practically no cases when adult consenting siblings were persecuted in any way

  11. The Indian pledge literally has the words “All Indians are my brothers and sisters”, so the legality makes sense /s
