  1. My earlier comment was removed as I linked to insta – they just announced on insta that they’re closing. they didn’t give a date so maybe it’s effective immediately!

  2. They just posted on their Instagram that they’re closing down for good. Seems they’ve been struggling to keep up since after lockdown.

About a year ago I had a great chat with them after seeing a few staff missing and they said they were having to downsize big time, all the way down to even their free soda refills on $1 wing Wednesday being canned. Really sucks!

A shame. I did like their burgers, I guess there’s so much competition there especially now with chaard opening up. But they promoted live music also.

Cost of living crisis I guess.

Damn, I wasn’t a regular but I think they did a really good job, and were refreshingly normal.

  5. Genuinely never been this sad about a hospo business closing. My local for a decade and the site of so many great times and memories

  6. Sad. Marked moving into my own home by having a burger from B.East. End of an institution. I’ll miss their vegan poutine.

  7. I’m going to posit that the new burger place around the corner, and the springing up of Rambling Man next door probably did it for them.

They did real well for their time there, excellent run.

Ah man that’s a shame, I saw some really great shows here. Seedy Jeezus at the Beast was always a party.

  9. Such a shame, I reckon I’ve had a burger and a beer here every week since I moved nearby

Awesomely friendly staff, great local bands, and great burgers and beer, they will be missed greatly

  10. I work just up the road at another hospo venue. Well known that they stopped paying their staff and had a staff walkout a little while ago. Relied on supp shifts for a bit but ultimately couldn’t keep in running

  11. Their B.East Burger was pretty legit. Had a few good date nights there some years ago before covid, but fuck milk crates for seats haha

My band played there last year for 420. It took them at least 4 months to pay us. Guess it makes sense now 😔

  13. RIP. Wish I knew they were struggling I would have chosen to eat there more often. End of an era.

It’s been a downhill slide to inevitable closure for about 4 years now.

First the shrink ray hit the menu then it hit the portions. Then the ingredient quality tanked.

  15. they had the best wings, great venue, sadly im not a local so didn’t get go there as much as i wanted

Seems like they have just opened a new venue in St Kilda. So the things can’t be that bad. Besides most people going for burgers these days in Brunswick East got to Charrd

Probably doesn’t help that Charrd opened two doors down, and apparently has amazing burgers.

  18. Nooo! I remember when they first opened! My favourite burger, Filthy 😭. Hopefully I can get one last one as its been a couple of years.

  19. Maybe they should have sold some better beers, I really enjoyed going there and was a regular for a while but I couldn’t stand the beer selection which is what stopped me from keeping on going back as with my mates
