.Strong and gusty west wind combined with very low relative
humidity and cured fuels will lead to conditions conducive for
very fast fire growth.

…RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 7 PM CST WEDNESDAY
FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR ALL OF CENTRAL IOWA…

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM to 7 PM CST Wednesday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA…All of central, north central and south central
Iowa.

* WIND…West wind 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

* HUMIDITY…Minimum relative humidity values of 12 to 22%

* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
