Hey all,

I’ve been working on a small side project for anyone visiting or living in Malta and wanted to share it with r/malta to get some eyes and feedback.

The site is: https://maltaguide.online/Home

What it does right now:

  • Curated events: theatre, concerts, festivals, exhibitions etc., with links to official booking pages (no random Facebook spam).
  • Short list of restaurants: a focus on solid, proven places rather than every outlet on the island.
  • Key attractions: historic sites, villages, viewpoints, with an emphasis on cultural stuff rather than just beaches.
  • A “One Day in Malta” guide aimed at cruise passengers and day‑trippers who want to make the most of a single day.

It’s meant to be:

  • Useful for locals who get the “I’m visiting Malta, what should I do?” message every other week.
  • Handy for visitors who want a quick, no‑nonsense overview instead of trawling a million blogs.
  • Free to start, with an optional newsletter for weekly events, restaurant picks and weather/travel tips.

I’d really appreciate:

  • Brutally honest feedback on usefulness, layout, and missing info.
  • Suggestions from locals on must‑include places or events I’m overlooking.
  • Bug reports (broken links, wrong info, anything that feels off).

If you had a friend coming for:

  • One day
  • One week
  • Or moving here long‑term

…what’s the one thing you’d expect a site like this to show them that it doesn’t yet?

Thanks in advance – happy to tweak it based on what this sub thinks would actually be useful.

  1. What is your unique proposition? Most of the content has only basic informational value, events/recommendations are API spamming, and UI looks like 99% of other similar recommendations websites.

  2. MediterraneanCunt on

In my eyes this is just a brocoded whatson to me. It’s a great little project but I wouldn’t publish it as it is not bringing anything new. All the info can be found elsewhere and there is no real use for the information posted as it is to be found elsewhere. Keep up the ideas and keep searching
