The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Authority, participated in the Hung Expo International Tourism Exhibition in Budapest, as well as the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade.
This participation is part of its ongoing efforts to promote Egypt as a tourist destination in various international markets.
CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority Ahmed Youssef asserted that participating in these two exhibitions is a response to the rising demand from both the Hungarian and Serbian markets to visit Egypt, showing the increasing interest of tourists from both countries in the Egyptian destination.
He explained that these events represent an important opportunity for engaging with tour operators, travel agencies, and airlines to find ways to improve collaboration, share experiences, and build new partnerships.
“The events also serve as a platform for showcasing the latest developments in the Egyptian tourism market,” he said.
The authority is currently running intensive promotional campaigns in the Hungarian market to highlight the diversity of tourism products and experiences that Egypt offers.
EgyptAir also launched new direct flights between Cairo and Budapest to support travel between the two countries.
Hung Expo is one of the most prominent tourism exhibitions in Eastern Europe. The Egyptian pavilion was opened by Egyptian Ambassador to Hungary, Ahmed Fahmy, in the presence of an authority delegation.
During the exhibition, the delegation held a series of professional meetings with representatives of travel and tourism companies in the Hungarian market to discuss mechanisms for increasing tourist arrivals to Egypt.
The exhibition saw the participation of over 30 countries and 650 exhibitors, a 12% increase from last year, along with around 27,000 industry professionals.
The Egyptian pavilion, covering 50 square meters and hosting two hotels, two travel agencies, and three airlines, received the Best Design award and was named the exhibition’s permanent partner.
In Belgrade, the Egyptian pavilion at the International Fair of Tourism was opened by Egyptian Ambassador to Serbia Ahmed Salama Suleiman with the attendance of the consul general and a delegation from the Authority.
The delegation held a series of meetings with tour operators and representatives of tourism companies in the Serbian market to discuss future plans for promoting Egypt’s diverse tourism destinations and products.
